Voice Standards Comparison Overview

The following tables present a comprehensive comparison/correlation of voice and related standards between TIA TR-41/IEEE STIT, ATIS T1A1.3, ITU-T SG12 (+ other study groups) and ETSI STQ (+ other committees).

 

The tables with “blue” headers are sorted by date (most recent at the top) and color-coding the documents by project/publication as identified by the legend in the bottom row.

 

Some categories, like “Synchronization”, are very specific and have few entries. However, other categories, like “Terminal Performance”, cover a number of related topics, which masks the correlation. Therefore, some “blue” tables have corresponding subcategory tables with “orange” headers to provide extra detail, e.g., analog telephones, narrowband digital wireline telephones, wideband digital wireline telephones and digital wireless telephones. Separating them into subcategories makes the relationships clearer at the expense of adding redundancy since some documents, for instance, the IEEE test methods standards, fit into several subcategories.
