At their meeting that convened on 2008-12-04, TR-45 agreed to re-charter the Ad-Hoc Group on International Mobile Telecommunications, TR-45.AHIMT, to perform the evaluations of selected proposals related to IMT-Advanced. The scope and charter of that group was developed and agreed at that meeting, and is reproduced below.

Scope and Charter

The scope and charter was developed and agreed at the meeting of TR-45 that convened on 2008-12-04, and is captured in contribution TR45/08·12·08·38R1.

Scope: to evaluate selected proposals to establish to the extent possible whether the proponents have demonstrated compliance with the requirements of IMT-Advanced.
to assist formulating groups within TR-45 with submission of proposals as requested.
Charter:
  • To operate within the relevant guidelines of the Association.
  • Participation is open to all members of TR-45.
  • To agree upon a method of work and timeline, including identification of which proposals to evaluate.
  • To agree upon an evaluation methodology based on relevant ITU-R documentation (e.g. ITU-R M.2135, “Guidelines for evaluation of radio interface technologies for IMT-Advanced”).
  • To establish and maintain an open (anyone can read, password-controlled write) website so that the work of the group is available to others.
  • To establish informal liaisons with other registered evaluation groups and proponents as considered appropriate.
  • To prepare a report to be filed with ITU-R by TR-45 and in accordance with ITU-R stated deadlines, see the relevant ITU-R website (http://www.itu.int/ITU-R/go/rsg5-imt-advanced/).
  • Monitor the ITU-R website for changes that may impact this work.
  • To identify potential representatives to attend the next meeting of WP 5D.
  • To provide a report on their activities to TR-45.
